PSSI 54 Series ESD Cabinets - high density static safe storage cabinets for circuit boards.
PSSI 54 Series Double Bay ESD cabinets are high density static safe storage cabinets for circuit boards. Each 54
Series ESD cabinet is 82" H by 54" W. Model 54-14 is 14" D and Model 54-21 is 21.75" D. The 54 Series ESD cabinets
are the ideal choice for digital switching, facility and private line offices, and major computer centers.
PSSI's patented static dissipative shelving system accommodates a wide range of circuit board sizes. The adjustability of
the PSSI shelving system provides the highest density of variable size circuit boards compared to other circuit board
storage cabinets. These ESD static safe cabinets can safely store packaged or unpackaged circuit boards (see
Specifications: Shelving). In addition to circuit board storage, these static safe cabinets also provide protection from theft, fire and unauthorized entry.

Patented, Static-Dissipative Circuit Board Shelving PSSI's
patented static dissipative shelving system accommodates a wide range of circuit board sizes. Static dissipative shelving is mounted to
stainless steel tracks to protect sensitive circuit boards from ESD by controlling the rate of electrical flow through each shelf to ground.
Each shelf is constructed of a specially formulated static dissipative polymer with a surface resistivity 106-109 ohms per square. The
grooved design on both the top and underside of each shelf allows for easy insertion and removal of circuit boards.
The adjustability of
the PSSI static dissipative shelving system provides storage for the highest density of variable size circuit boards compared to other circuit
board storage cabinets on the market.

PWGM Wrist Strap Tester/Monitor (optional) To assure proper ESD procedures, an optional personnel wrist strap tester and ground continuity monitor (PWGM) is
available and can be included in each cabinet. Conveniently located in the cabinet centerpost, the PWGM easily verifies that a technician's
wrist strap is making a proper ground and remains correctly connected. The PWGM can also be connected to the central ground system. The PWGM
provides an audible and visual alarm if the technician's wrist strap fails or inadvertently disconnects, or if the cabinet ground should
disconnect from the central ground system.

The chart below will assist you in determining the number of shelves required for the quantity of spare circuit boards being stored.
The 54-14, and the 54-21, cabinet has four compartments. There are two compartments on each side of the cabinet center post.
Each compartment will have a variable number of vertical chambers determined by the height of the circuit boards in each chamber.
There are two formulas at the bottom of the chart to assist you in determining:
a. The number of circuit boards per chamber, and
b. The number of shelves required

Vertical Shelf Formula 77" ÷ Height of Board + .875 =
Number of Shelves required.
|
Horizontal Storage Formula 10" ÷ Width of Board =
Number per chamber.
|
|
Notes:
- Horizontal shelf formula: ROUND UP to nearest half or whole number.
- Vertical shelf formula: ROUND UP to nearest fraction.
- For TOTAL storage capacity by compartment:
Multiply the vertical chambers by the number of boards per chamber.
- Circuit board storage calculations are within + or –10%.
- Model 54-14 for circuit boards up to 10-1/4" in length.
Model 54-21 for circuit boards up to 18" in length.
- MAXIMUM horizontal circuit board storage: 16 circuit boards per chamber.
