CABINET NETWORK
Several cabinets can connect together to form a network and share the information of the equipment and the users. Each cabinet has its own database and also communicates with the Pool Database at the same time. The Pool Database or Master Database coordinates all the individual databases; the Pool Database can be placed in a computer of one cabinet or can be configured as a Cloud-based server on the internet.
The cabinet network consists of several cabinets, a pool database, a server GUI and a network switch. The cabinet can be a regular CA cabinet or Kiosk cabinet, the pool database is usually a SQL database that can be installed in a cabinet computer or another computer, the server GUI can be installed on one of the cabinet computers or the administrator’s laptops. From theory, the cabinets can be located in anywhere in the world where Internet is available, but they are normally located in a local network (LAN) in the real situation.
The central part of the cabinet network is the pool database. The pool database has the information of users, equipment and the configuration of all the cabinets in the network. Each cabinet can be configured to share the data with the pool database. The detailed activity log of each cabinet is copied to the pool database, and the report and related statistics can be generated based on the logs. Server GUI is the tool to manage the pool database.
